News Summary : January 2012

We hope you had a good start in 2012 just as we did at Twipe. Hereby, some highlights so far:

Building rich web-based HTML5 apps that run on any device via a standard web browser, that’s what our R&D team is working on during 1H. As from 2H we will be ready to respond to your HTML5 requests for commercial roll out. Don’t wait until then, but send us your requests now already to get first in line.

New features in Twipe’s Tablet Optimised Newspaper

  • New templates have been integrated to bring an even better reading experience for the end consumer
  • Via HTML5 advertisements publishers can integrate easily fill-in forms for coupons and other promotions in the digital newspaper

De Standaard HD doubles his users in less than 3 months thanks to “Tablet Optimised Newspaper” publishing. The study shows:

  • Downloads: The iOS app has now more than 50K downloads versus a 100K print circulation
  • Usability: 76% rates the Tablet Optimised iPad app with an 8/10 in terms of user satisfaction
  • Age:  the majority of De Standaard HD users are between 35 and 54 years old

Upcoming events

  • Ereading event (NL-20/3) The third edition will be hosting 60 international speakers focussing on tablet & ereaders and its impact on content and business processes. Next to Twipe also presenting on stage are Pim Schmitz (Talpa Media), Alexander Bregman (Google) and Joris Van Heukelom (IAB).
  • Wan Ifra’s Digital Media Europe 2012 (UK – 16-18/4) targets digital managers of newspapers and magazine publishers. Several C-level executives will be bringing fresh insights from their area; Axel Springer,,, Salesforce and Stardoll confirmed already. Twipe will be teaming up with a special booth.
