It’s important to take time away from the office to reflect on work and get to know your colleagues in a more personal setting. In typical Twipe spirit and to celebrate the work done for the 2018 Digital Growth Summit, we headed to Sicily’s East coast, for a weekend of adventure. At Twipe our ambition is to move mountains so what better way to bring this metaphor to life than hiking together down the Etna volcano.
Arriving in the afternoon after a morning of travelling, we kicked off the trip by jumping into the pool after a short bus ride from the airport to our hotel in Letojanni, on the east coast of Sicily.
After a delicious local dinner our evening ended with a walk on the beach and an early night (for some 🙂 ) in preparation of the great adventure of next day, our tour up Mount Etna.
Mount Etna is a 3350m high volcano on the East Coast of Sicily. In the days leading up to our trip it had been especially active which meant that it would be impossible to get too close to the summit. Nevertheless we were able to reach a height of 2950m and profit from some truly awe inspiring views as we made our way back down.
Following the hike down the mountain, we headed to the local city of Taormina to take a drink on the beach and enjoy views of the ‘Isola Bella’ before tackling over 700 steps in a walk to the city centre.
For our final evening, the Twipe Quiz Squad had prepared an incredible quiz full of questions about Twipe, about each other, and about our customers.
After two days we left Italy full of new ideas and ready to jump head first into our upcoming challenges and events.
