Danny Lein

Danny Lein is the Founder and CEO of Twipe, one of the leading providers of technology solutions for the distribution of digital newspapers, with customers in Europe and the US.

Starting as project for the Flemish quality newspaper De Standaard, Twipe has in recent years grown into a state-of-the-art platform used by publishers like Le Monde, The Telegraph, Ouest-France and DuMont newspapers for the distribution of their digital editions.

Putting reader engagement and subscription growth at the core of the product roadmap, and launching research initiatives like Reinventing Digital Editions, he has helped to shape the vision and growth paths of his customers in a collaborative way. By investing early on AI and machine learning technologies, such as the JAMES Project with The Times, Twipe has also been recognized as an innovation leader by receiving support from the Google Digital News Initiative (DNI) several times.

Prior to launching Twipe, Danny was a co-founder of the Belgian internet incubator Venturebay. From the early stage incubation, he was able to launch and grow Register.be, a leading domain name registration provider and MobileWeb.be, a SMS aggregation platform in Belgium. Both companies were successfully sold in 2011, respectively to Combell (now team.blue) and CM Telecom.

Before his entrepreneurial experiences, Danny has gained experience at Procter & Gamble and McKinsey & Company.

Danny holds a Master of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from KU Leuven, a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Economics at KU Leuven and an MBA at INSEAD.
