Say hello! Share who you are and what do you do.

Kobe: Hey there! Kobe Jacobs here. I’ve been part of Twipe’s dynamic team for a while now. I started my journey at Twipe as an intern back in 2022 and I haven’t looked back since. Now, I’m a Young Graduate Business Engineering in the Customer Success Management (CSM) team. I studied Business Information Systems Engineering where I had both technical and business courses. And this little one is my fellow Young Graduate Business Engineering, Ioana, who started at the same time as me.

Ioana: Hi everyone! Ioana here. I’m Romanian and studied an MSc of Human-Computer Interaction Design in the Netherlands and Finland. I’m a recent addition to the Twipe family, and I couldn’t be happier with my decision! I’m part of the Product team, currently managing technical deadlines and scoping features for the Platform squad.

What drew you to Twipe?

Kobe: One of the main things that drew me to Twipe was the unique company culture. It’s all about open-mindedness, team spirit, and a flat hierarchy where everyone’s voice is heard. Whether it’s organizing training events, bonding over lunch (we’re foodies here!), or forming friendships (yes, Ioana and I are self-declared twins), there’s something special about the connections we make within Twipe. Also, I appreciate that if you want to dive into a topic not related to your daily work, such as the back-end API of Twipe AppsV4, you can ask for a training or go straight to a back-end engineer who will gladly answer your questions.

Ioana: I fully agree with Kobe! The youthful energy and camaraderie at Twipe are infectious. Plus, the Young Graduate programme offers incredible opportunities to explore different teams and projects, each with its own set of challenges and responsibilities. As part of the Young Graduate programme, we are free to choose what team/position we would like to explore, where we can develop a variety of skills such as leadership, coding, project management, and stakeholder communication. Plus, the Twipe HQ is in Leuven so I couldn’t say no to those irresistible Belgian fries and beer!

But here’s the beauty of Twipe—you’re never alone. There’s always someone willing to lend a helping hand or offer guidance when needed.

What project have you worked on during your Young Grad programme?

Kobe: From requirements engineering to client communication and project planning, I’ve been fully immersed in every aspect of the SWMH onboarding journey. It’s been a rollercoaster ride of meetings, testing, and problem-solving, but taking ownership of such a significant project has been incredibly rewarding. I am the main point of contact for SWHM, but ownership does not mean I cannot ask for help. Everyone in Twipe helps each other, and there is no feeling of “I” in this team. There are of course frustrating days, but that is only because everyone tries their best to deliver excellence and you are motivated to do that implicitly by your surroundings.

Ioana: But Young Grad is not just about the work we do, it’s also about personal and professional growth. Twipe has this remarkable way of translating academic knowledge into practical skills. Courses that once seemed abstract are now invaluable tools in our daily work. Personally, I enjoy doing my best every day and I think I speak for both of us when I say every day is different especially in CSM and Product team. And I fully agree with the emphasis on teamwork. It’s not just a buzzword; it’s a way of life here.

What are some challenges you’ve faced? How has Twipe helped you navigate them?

Kobe: Of course, with great opportunities come great challenges. Imposter syndrome is something some of us face, especially as fresh graduates thrown into a pool of high-performing individuals. But here’s the beauty of Twipe—you’re never alone. There’s always someone willing to lend a helping hand or offer guidance when needed. I personally got over it after my first months here and my focus shifted to developing my skills rather than just performing.

Ioana: Within the Young Graduate programme, you benefit from a coaching buddy who will help you pick up things faster and pinpoint areas of growth within your first month here. Don’t forget that ownership in Twipe starts from Day 1! Despite the challenges, we also try to have a lot of fun. Whether it’s our daily coffee chats, doing sports together, epic Halloween dress-ups, crazy themes like Sparkling Fridays, or simply bonding over shared interests like movies and anime clubs, you are guaranteed to find at least one Twipee whom you can connect with which makes doing the hard things together a lot easier.

What advice would you give to someone considering joining our team or applying for a position here?

Kobe: To all you young graduates out there, if you’re looking for a place where work meets fun, growth meets challenges, and fun and creative colleagues, Twipe is the place to be. Reach out, and let’s embark on this exciting journey together!

Ioana: Couldn’t have said it better myself! What are you waiting for? Join us at Twipe, where every day is an adventure waiting to unfold! And be ready to learn how to play kicker.
