Hi, I’m Wout. I’m a student at KU Leuven. Last year I finished my bachelor’s degree in Informatics with a minor in Business & Innovation. In September I will start my master’s degree in computer science. During the year I spent my time working on projects within a student organization (and studying of course ;))
Why did you choose to do a summer internship at Twipe?
Before I applied at Twipe I hadn’t heard of them yet, when investigating further it seemed like a fun company that was involved with students and where I could have a great learning experience.
Which projects did you work on and what stood out?
During my internship, I primarily focused on building an automated testing system for Twipe’s news apps. It was incredibly rewarding to see the progress unfold throughout the internship and to watch the tests run seamlessly. Additionally, I had the chance to work on side projects, like debugging and optimizing the apps, which added to the experience.
How did you find the vibe at Twipe?
I honestly think there isn’t any other work environment where the vibe is so positive, collaborative, and fun as it is in Twipe. There are always colleagues there to help when you’ve run into an “unsolvable” issue.
What is the key thing you learned during your internship?
I gained invaluable insights into the importance of having an automated testing program for apps. I also came into contact with different types of new technologies causing my technical knowledge to grow.
Beyond the technical stuff, I also learned a great deal about working in a company. From participating in meetings and enjoying lunch breaks to interacting with colleagues—experiences that go beyond what you encounter in university projects.
Would you recommend Twipe to future interns?
Absolutely! I would highly recommend Twipe to future interns. Twipe is dedicated not only to its own growth but also to ensuring that interns have the opportunity to learn and develop their skills.
