In 2015 we’ve done a very extensive academic research project with Mediahuis and the University of Leuven (KU Leuven) in order to build up a much deeper understanding of the engagement of readers with digital publications. The project has received funding from the Flemish government.
We are now in the process of turning the insights & prototypes, from the research project, into a new product line, called EngageReaders Insights. The objective is to provide editorial teams with deep and actionable insights on a daily basis about the past publication. We also want to give them concrete tips to improve their publications, and provide collaborative tools to reach engagement targets.
We have received great support from the Google Digital News Initiative (DNI) to productive the already developed prototypes and enable the roll-out at Mediahuis. Mediahuis publishes 5 newspapers with a total daily circulation of 800.000 in print.
