This morning, around 9’o clock 5 Twipe employees, also called Twipees, landed in Torino, Italy.

In this picture (from left to right): Anthony De Smet – Project Manager, Ruud Boydens – Software Developer, Yannick Meel – Sr. Software Developer and Wouter Goossens – Software Developer.

We came this far to represent Twipe at the first Ad Hackathon ever, organized by Wan-Ifra and their partners CCI, RCS and Tamedia. Why this hackathon?

The news industry faces a deadly threat: advertising money is spent elsewhere. That means news organisations starve and journalism is at risk of dying with the old advertising models. But the right to know is a basic human right. Imagine a world without curious and investigative journalists. Impossible! We can’t blame the advertisers – but we can improve the way the news industry offers advertising.

With Twipe we have a deep understanding of the digital publishing industry. Furthermore our team consists of the most creative minds with first in class HTML5, iOS, Android and C# skills. We’re here to share our knowledge, creativity and skills with the other teams from Wan-Ifra, CCI, RCS and Tamedia and are ready to hack traditional advertising!
