More than 900.000 digital editions of German newspapers have been bought on a daily basis in the last quarter of 2015. This represents a 35% year-by-year growth, in an overall declining circulation market. The digital newspaper circulation represents 4,5% of the total newspaper distribution in Germany. Almost half of the consumption is part of a subscription.
The ePaper circulation represents 4,5% of the total daily and weekly newspaper circulation of 20 million copies.
While the total circulation of daily newspapers has seen a year-by-year decline of 5% between Q4 2014 and Q4 2015, the sales of the digital editions has increased by 35%.
